In accordance with the Water and Sewage Act, 2002, the Hydrometeorological Service has been tasked with the monitoring of water quality throughout Guyana. To fulfil these stipulations, the Water Quality Laboratory was established and officially on October 23, 2019, and officially commissioned.

Lab Testing

Steps to apply for testing:
- Send email to Chief Hydrometeorological Officer requesting water quality sampling.
- Meet with Water Quality Staff to discuss specifications of testing assignment
- Fill out Sample Testing Request Form to begin testing assignment.
